The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, under the Chief Minister Reforms Unit, has launched a landmark scholarship initiative aimed at bridging the gender gap in education. Officially announced on April 23, 2026, by the Office of the Deputy Director Education Diamer, this program targets female students from the most remote and “hard areas” of District Diamer.

Program Objectives & Background

The primary goal of this “Special Initiative for Promotion of Female Education” is to provide financial sustenance to girls who face significant barriers to secondary schooling. District Diamer’s rugged geography often leaves local girls without access to SSC (Secondary School Certificate) and HSSC (Higher Secondary School Certificate) facilities in their immediate vicinity.

Key Objectives:

Direct Financial Aid: Providing a monthly stipend to cover educational and living expenses.
Human Resource Development: Nurturing a local pool of educated women who can later serve as teachers in their own communities.
Long-term Commitment: Supporting students through the completion of FA/F.Sc (Intermediate).

Eligibility Criteria

To ensure that the scholarship reaches the most marginalized and deserving candidates, the following criteria have been established:

1. Residency and Gender

Target Group: Only female students are eligible.
Location: Applicants must be permanent residents of “Hard Areas” in District Diamer where local access to SSC/HSSC education is unavailable.

2. Academic Status

Level: Applicants must currently be enrolled in SSC-I (9th Grade) for the 2025-26 session.
Institution: Must be studying in any Government Educational Institution across Gilgit-Baltistan.

3. Commitments and Conditions

Attendance: A minimum of 85% attendance is mandatory to maintain the scholarship.
Surety Bond: Parents/guardians must sign a surety bond (stamped by a 1st Class Magistrate) promising that the student will complete her FA/F.Sc and serve the GB Government in her local area for 3 years if required.

Important Considerations for Applicants

Finality: The decision of the Selection Committee is final and cannot be challenged in any court of law.
Syllabus: Students must appear in examinations following the current/prevailing syllabus at the time of their attempts.
Incomplete Applications: Submissions missing required documents or arriving after the 15-day deadline will not be entertained.
