Subject: COMMENCEMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TRAINING PROGRAM FOR 35,000 GOVT. SCHOOL TEACHERS
Kindly refer to the subject cited above and this office’s earlier communication regarding the Training Needs Assessment (TNA) conducted under the Chief Minister’s Special Initiative for English Language Proficiency of Students and Teachers of Public Schools, approved by the Provincial Cabinet in its 26th meeting held on 03-06-2025. PECTAA English Proficiency Training for 35,000 Govt School Teachers.
- I am directed to inform you that the English Language Proficiency Training Program for Government School Teachers will formally commence from 12th June, 2026. This program has been developed and is being delivered in collaboration with an internationally recognized language training institution and is directly aligned with the Chief Minister’s vision for elevating the professional competence of Punjab’s public school teaching community. You are requested to ensure the full participation and timely mobilization of all teachers under your jurisdiction. Govt Teachers Mandatory English Training Order 2026 – PECTAA Official Letter.
- It is hereby directed that attendance of all registered Government School teachers in this program is MANDATORY. Absence without prior approval from the concerned CEO (DEA) and PECTAA Field Office will be treated as a disciplinary matter and may be reported to the relevant authorities. The Field Office Heads are specifically directed to ensure complete mobilization of teachers, maintain session-wise attendance records, and submit attendance reports to PECTAA Headquarter on a regular basis. Teachers are to be informed that this training is:
- A direct investment in their professional growth and career advancement as Government school teachers;
- An opportunity to attain internationally recognized standards of English language communication in line with CEFR benchmarks;
- A Government-funded initiative provided at no personal cost to the teacher; and
- An important part of their professional service record under this initiative.
