STI Jobs Punjab Latest News 2026 – Contract Extension & Salary Increase Official Notification

No. SO(SE-REC)18-09/2026: The Competent Authority has been pleased to approve the continuation of School Teaching Interns (STIs) already engaged against the approved slots of approximately 25,000 STIs (Phase I & II) in Primary, Elementary, High, and Higher Secondary Schools across Punjab. This continuation shall be governed by the revised terms and conditions, effective from 22.09.2026 to 31.05.2027.
- All Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities (DEAs) in Punjab are hereby directed to issue necessary instructions to the concerned Appointing Authorities. They shall issue fresh letters of agreement for the continuation of those STIs whose internship terms expired on 31.05.2026. This continuation will be strictly under the revised terms and conditions, including a revised monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000, for the extended duration from 22.09.2026 to 31.05.2027, subject to the fulfillment of the following eligibility conditions: i. Their previous contracts were not terminated for any reason whatsoever.
ii. They did not resign or abandon their STI posts prior to 31.05.2026 (the expiry date of their earlier internship term).
(Note: The original text’s third point regarding the “pay increment of 15,000” has been integrated into Paragraph 2 as a revised term of the agreement. This ensures the numbered conditions list remains strictly focused on the intern’s eligibility, which is standard practice for official notifications.)
